sometimes, a practice alone is the best practice. i LOVE the feeling of a class: the collective energy, the love, the support. but when i’m practicing alone, i don’t ever feel in the slightest need to impress anyone.

I’m with you there girl, on all of this. Especially the shaking of the tailfeather in Adho mukha. I tell my students to do that too, though :)
And I’d hardly call my child’s poses “rests,” they’re more like “staying there until I’ve created a hole in the ground.”
